Quaker Education
Moses Brown is a Quaker school. Quakerism holds that there is an Inner Light in each of us. This belief yields a deep commitment to equality and community, and people of all faiths find resonance in the core human values at the center of Friends (Quaker) education and practice.
Quaker Education
At Moses Brown, we create an academic culture of deep reflection, expansive curiosity, and spirited inquiry by applying Quaker values every day.
Learning in Community
Learning at Moses Brown is a shared enterprise. We ask and listen respectfully, grant grace in the process of learning, and delight in the growth of others.
Ambition for Greater Good
Every day, our students become people who are ambitious not only for themselves, but also for their neighbors and those they have yet to meet.

News From Our Community
For the second year in a row, congratulations to student editors and contributors of Moses Brown’s upper school literary magazine OMNIA. The magazine has been recognized as a REALM First Class magazine by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). Moses Brown School is the only school in Rhode Island to receive this honor.
Students in French 4 and French 4 Honors taught by Adèle Saint Pierre have created a gallery of multimedia projects including accompanying audio available to visitors via QR code. The project unveiling, in the Theodore S. Whitford Language Lab in Friends Hall, had the feel of an art museum opening with students milling around and listening to the audio.
Kindergarteners have been learning about Chinese culture in a variety of ways, including the celebration of the Lunar New Year. As part of this, they’ve been doing some collaborative learning with upper school Mandarin language students. They united in celebration of the new year, which began on February 10, by parading around our campus in a Dragon Dance. Fittingly, this year is the Year of the Dragon!
In late January and early February, upper school AP Art students have graced the Jones Library with a mural art project. Responding to the themes of Black History Month and/or Library Lovers Month, students (working independently or in small groups) wrote proposals, designed, and executed their murals on the glass panels enclosing the library classroom.
